# Talk:Wiki for statistical consulting

## SCS course material

We could have links to SCS course materials and SPIDA materials. The wiki doesn't have an enormous amount of space so typical powerpoint or pdf files should be okay to upload, but much more voluminous material would be a problem. When possbile it might be better to have links to locations on other machines. Video screen captures of lectures would be too large but links to these would, of course, be okay. --Georges 14:49, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

## Suggested ToDo list for the wiki

Software: Links to external websites and/or to wiki pages describing SAS, SPSS, R (already done)

Decision making flowchart: what I envision is something like it is found on appendices or backcovers of textbooks, to have the different data analysis methods at the end of a decision making tree asking questions about type of variables and type of design, etc etc. MRE --Mromero 14:59, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

I have started to create stubs (links to non-existing pages) for other people to enter content. Feel free to do so or to delete the links if not useful.

## Edit log

100909 I took away the link to How to enter math into the wiki because the page gives an error(I tried it on Chrome and Firefox). I don't know how to enter math into a wiki, so I am not able to repair it, once it is fixed please put the link back. --Manolo 14:53, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

I just tried 1 / n to see that the math rendering program is not activated. I've contacted the sysadmin to ask that it be turned on. --Georges 18:08, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Good news! I asked the sysadmin to activate math and it's now working. e.g.: $\int_{1}^{3}\frac{e^3/x}{x^2}\, dx$. For information click on "editing help" at the bottom of the page when you are editing and then click on the fourth line: "For help with LateX" etc. --Georges 12:15, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

## How to edit Wiki pages

Wikipedia has some good resources on how to edit Wikis, that apply to our Wiki. In the annual introduction to the Wiki these pages could be used:
